Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Bathroom Decor!
Your bathroom is ready for a makeover and, at long last, you have managed to put the funds together to achieve the bathroom of your dreams. But… where do you actually start? It is all too easy to rush off to the nearest showroom, tour around for what feels like hours and leave with your head spinning with designs, systems and statistics and STILL have no idea what you want for your own bathroom!
Size Always Matters!
If your perfect dream tub will not fit into your bathroom you cannot have it – it is as simple as that! Measure your bathroom, making sure that you always note the smallest possible measurement. For example, measure the floor from skirting board to skirting board, rather than from higher up the walls – sometimes just one inch can make all the difference! Once you have your measurements you can start to choose from the bathroom suites that will fit into the space, rather than ogle the larger, more generously proportioned ones! Do not choose the piece you love, choose the one that will fit the space!
Shower curtain
The shower curtain tends to be one of those last minute purchases, bought in a rush, with the last few pennies in the decorating budget. This is a mistake, and should be avoided. Your shower curtain may only be a relatively small item, but, like the bath-mat set, it takes up a lot of the visual space in your bathroom, drawing the eye. Choose the best shower curtain that you can afford and also make sure that the shower curtain rail looks attractive. Team these with a unique shower, such as these distinctive showers from My Bathrooms and you will see your shower area pop!
Accessories
Like the shower curtain, these bathroom features capture the eye of everyone using the room, so make sure that they look good! You can use your accessories to disguise any flaws or odd spaces in your bathroom, so, again, the choice is not one to be rushed into
Walls
It does not matter how wonderful and colorful your bathroom décor is if the walls are grimy or unsightly! Choose easy to clean tiles and paint and strong waterproof wallpaper from Wilko. Opt for colors that catch the light and reflect it back into the room, or else you will be installing ever stronger and brighter lights to try and enliven the room.
Finish up by purchasing or making small touches and soft furnishings that harmonies beautifully with your décor to complete, soften and draw all the whole room together.
